NHD Topic Essay

My topic for this years NHD conflict and compromise is little rock nine central high school and the main reason why I chose this topic is because the topic seemed really interesting and exciting. Plus there's a lot of things I want to know like when did this situation occurred and why did it happen? And will people of different racist's ever learn to love one another as a equal instead of coursing, fighting, and hurting each other. So that's what really made me want to gather information on this topic cause once I read up on it, it was kind of similar to the Ruby Bridges story to where she had to go to this racist school where the white people didn't want colored kids there and how they were separated from each other. Well that's how the little rock 9 central high school case the only difference was in their case it was 9 colored kids who wanted to attend this school, but were denied. Once they got the chance they were separate in different classes because the white kids didn't want to be in the same class as the colored kids so basically they were split up and, everyday those 9 colored kids had to enter school facing other kids which holding up racist signs and yell at them spit on them and create lots of negative energy towards the colored kids. Coming from little rock, Arkansas I would of never though that people out there would be racist, because it seemed like that type stuff was going on in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. So I was kind of shocked to read up on that but that's what took me by storm and I said I'm going to share my knowledge of this topic to the Constitution center because it's such a great topic that's why I picked it. During my research time on this topic I hoped to find out who were the nine kids and their parents and how did they feel when the disaster happened and what do they have to say about it. Really I want to know where are they now and how hard was it for them to over come it, and when they went to court what was the judge reaction to the case. The things I'm going to focus on to get through this NHD, is lots of research go to libraries and spin more time after school!!!
